Not down, not out…

Apologies for the long silence from my end. No reason other than laziness. I have slipped up on my deadline, yet again. Perhaps I shouldn’t set a deadline but simply run. Which is what I been doing. 45-minuters three times a week. Throw in a couple of outings on a bicycle. I feel a whole lot more relaxed running like this – with no specific target date.

I have taken to running at our local park in the mornings. It gets lighter earlier and it feels lovely to be out at that time of the day.
And for no apparent reason, I leave you with a few pictures taken at the park a couple of days ago.

Drought

It’s feasts or famines here. The past week has been busy-busy-busy. It was compounded by the fact that the childminder broke her leg. And the house has had its floor ripped out and I’m running late (yeah, you noticed it too?) on a piece of work I’d committed myself to. And all this means it’s 6-days since the shoes came off. And the remain discarded.

I really don’t know if I can pull off Sunday. I feel ill prepared. Watch this space.

(meanwhile, there’s a 6-week running sisterhood starting locally. Tres exciting)

Running – day 32

It has sort of become a routine with us on weekends. He on his bicyle and me jogging along. Us chatting about this and that. I rarely get to talk to him for 45 minutes undisturbed. He pretended to be my coach and egged me on as I flagged. And for my part, I flagged regularly.

In all, a most enjoyable Sunday outing for us.

Time run: 45 mins
Distance run: 3 miles (sumaar)

Running – days 30 & 31

As kids, if we missed a dose of medicine, our mother would make us have twice the reccomended dosage the next time. As if that would treat the illness double quick. I was of reminded of that when I went running two days in succession. To make up for the entire past week of actively doing NOTHING! It was quite pleasant and I thoroughly enjoyed both outings.

Time run: 42 minutes (on both days)
Distance covered: 3 miles (a peu pres)

No running

So I missed the deadline I had set myself. If truth be told I didn’t quite feel like it. I had somehow lost the steam. It was getting boring before it became downright dull. Just me jogging. And then jotting about it here. A one-way stream. May be I just needed a show of hands from your end. If you are reading this, then give me a shout. Thanks!

p.s. new target date set for the 22nd of March. Mothering Sunday, quite appropriate no?

Running – day 29

The sun was out and spring is almost here. What a great day it was to be out in the park. And not a dog in sight!

Time run: 43 mins
Distance run: 3.25 miles (conservative approximation)

Running – day 28

Another mad dog incident today! Seriously! Why the bleeding heck won’t they put their dogs on a leash? And that stupid woman laughing her head off at the sight of me being chased by a dog…bitch! Now, now, don’t you start!

Time run: 40 mins
Distance run: 3 miles
